We wanted to clarify some requirements and details of the upcoming Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) District Meet at Briarwood on July 9 & 10.

Qualifications
Swimmers must be 7 and over as of June 1, 2021 in order to participate.You will need to provide a copy of your swimmer’s birth certificate or their passport for proof of age. Please bring this to the End of Season Party.
Meet Details
Friday, 7/9: 11-17 years Finals (Warm-up 3pm, Start 5:30pm) Saturday, 7/10: 7-10 years Finals (Warm-up 8am, Start 9:30am)Location - Briarwood Pool, spectators permitted

Please RSVP here for the GRPA District MeetRSVP deadline is this Sunday, 6/27 by 6pm, no late entriesWhen you RSVP, please choose 2 events you would like your child to swim. We will try to have relays if possible. If you RSVP’d early, please go back in and select your swimmer’s preferred events.Note: Participation in this meet gives you the possibility of qualifying for the State Meet in Cumming. If you do not participate in the GRPA District Meet, you cannot participate in the State Meet.
Practices
For the GRPA District Meet, the City of Brookhaven will combine the Briarwood and Murphey Candler teams. In order to prepare for the District Meet, Briarwood will hold practices prior to the meet. There will be a $20 fee to account for these extra practices payable via Venmo on the 1st day of practice. Practice schedules are TBD and will be run by the Briarwood coaches.
