Dear Marlins Family,

The GRPA District Meet deadline is fast approaching. Please see below for more information regarding the GRPA District Meet. This meet will be held Saturday, June 18 at the Briarwood Pool. Please note this is only for swimmers ages 7-17. This
District meet is a qualifier for the State Meet (July 22,23). For these meets, we will be combining swimmers from the Murphey Candler Marlins, Briarwood Barracudas and the Hampton Hall Waves to represent the City of Brookhaven. We are encouraging all eligible swimmers to try and attend the District because it is a great experience for all swimmers. Let us know if you are available to attend the State meet if you end up qualifying.

• A copy of the swimmer’s birth certificate or passport is needed to verify your child’s age.
• Please fill out the google form below to declare your events.

2022 GRPA District and State Championship Meet

Deadline is Wednesday June 8. No later than June 8 you must:

1. Complete this form declaring your events.
2. Email Yolanda - [email protected] a copy of your birth certificate or passport (age verification- must be 7+). If you prefer not to send electronically, we will also collect hard copies at practice on Monday, 6/6 and Wednesday, 6/8.

1. You swim for a Brookhaven swim team.
2. You must be 7 or older as of 5/31/2022.
3. You must declare if you are unable to swim at the State Meet.

District Meet (participating in the District Meet gives you the opportunity to compete in the State Championship meet):

We encourage you to attend the District Meet even if you are not able to come to the State meet because it is a great experience for all the swimmers. Let us know if you are available to swim in the State Meet if you qualify.

The 2022 State Meet will be held at the Cherokee Aquatic Center.

This is a prelims-finals meet.

7-10 Year Olds: Friday July 22, 2022 (Warmups: 7 am, Meet: 9 am)

11 and Older: Saturday July 23, 2022 (Warmups: 7 am, Meet: 9 am)

For those that finish in the top 8 of their events in the morning prelims will qualify for finals later in the afternoon (Friday for 10 and under, Saturday for 11 and Up) Finals warm-ups will begin approximately at 2:45 PM with a finals start time of 4:00 PM. Swimmers will have 30 minutes after their race results are posted to declare his/her intentions for finals (i.e. decide whether or not to come back). They must either commit or decline. If a swimmer commits to attend finals and does not show, the swimmer will be fined by the GRPA. Awards will be given away at finals after each event finishes (i.e. after all age groups have swam each event).
