    2022 ASA Championship Meet Details

    Dear Marlins Family,

    Thank you for RSVPing to the ASA Championship Meet at Georgia Tech! This is a wonderful experience for all our swimmers - to be able to swim and compete in an Olympic pool! Please see below for some important details about the meet:

    2022 ASA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET DETAILS:

    Date: Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 4pm

    Location: Georgia Tech Campus Rec Center/ McAuley Aquatic Center

    750 Ferst Dr, Atlanta, GA 30318

    Entries

    • All swimmers can swim 2 individual and 2 relay events

    Parking - All Vehicles Must Pay to Park

    • Vehicles up to a 15-passenger van may park in the W10 CRC Lot located Adjacent to the CRC at 750 This is a prepaid lot only, Ferst Dr. you cannot pay at the gate. The cost $12 go to https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events (Choose the June 30 ASA 2022: Session 2 – 1:00pm-6:30pm option)
    • You cannot buy spots for this lot at the gate.
    • Overflow parking for W10 and any day of parking for those who did not prepay is located at the W23 lot at 905 State St. on Weds. center lot at 355 Ferst Fri. and in the W02 student Dr on Saturday only. These are relatively short walks from the pool.

    Team Entry and Team Area

    • Meet on the lawn at the front of the building and enter as a team to the team area
    • Swimmers MUST remain in their team areas and cannot use the pool until it is time for them to warmup or compete.
    • Smaller personal coolers that can fit into or under a seat are OK. GT Concessions Stands be open but will have very limited offerings. Please plan accordingly.
    • Coaches/athletes must remain in their area unless they are going to swim. Swimmers must return to their team area promptly after their race or warm down.
    • There is Team and Spectator area, there is not enough room in assigned area for all parents. - they can sit in spectator area.

    Volunteers

    • Each team will have volunteer assignments for the championship meet.
    • When it is time for your volunteer workers to report, have them go down the back stairwell from the spectator seating, to check in. They will be directed to their stations from there.
    • Teams are welcome to work their jobs in shifts as they choose, however each team is responsible for their assigned jobs for the duration of the session. We anticipate each session lasting about 3.5 hours.

    Bullpen

    • Bullpen will be used for all individual events
    • 13 & Overs are not required to go through the bullpen, but is available for swimmers wanting to confirm Heat and Lane Relays:
    • Teams are responsible to taking relays directly to the blocks -- No Bullpen
    • Girls Bullpen Lead: Sarah Oberholtzer
    • Boys Bullpen Lead: Evan Nylander
    • Mark your swimmers Please use a Sharpie and write your swimmers name & team abbreviation on their shoulder/shoulder blade.

    AWARDS:

    • Medals for 1-10 in individual events and 1 -3 for Relays
    • Ribbons for all remaining places to 30th place for individual and relay events.
    • Trophies for top 8 teams in each session.

    REMINDERS

    Do’s

    • Respect facility and staff
    • Communicate ALL of this info with your athletes and families
    • Follow instructions
    • Clean up after yourself
    • Keep track of your stuff
    • Lost and found at guard stand
    • Use painters tape only for signs
    • Have fun and go fast

    Don't

    • Block aisleways and hallways
    • Wander around the facility
    • Call the facility with questions about the meet.
    • Call meet management.
    • Bring large coolers or anything glass into the building
    • Forget to pick up your team’s ribbons and medals before you leave.
