ASA Champion Meet Details - general
The grand finale, the ASA Championship Meet at Georgia Tech is on Wednesday, June 28 at 4pm. This meet is such a fun event for our swimmers. All the ASA swim teams gather to compete in 6 sessions. Fun fact: The swimming competition at the 1996 Summer Olympics was held at this same pool!
For those of you who are 1st timers, or even old timers who need refreshing, here are some key points about the meet:
Details
Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 4pm (Note: Warm ups are 90 minutes prior to the meet and we are allowed into the Aquatic Center 30 minutes prior to warmup. Please plan to be available to arrive around 2:30pm - 2:45 – Our warmup time is 3:30-3:45pm and we will enter the facility as a team at 3:00pm.

About the Championships

Spectators: Parents/Family/are invited to come watch in the designated spectator areas.
Format: This is a timed final event. Teams will compete in one of 6 sessions. Each session will have team trophies and medals and ribbons for individual and relay events.
Awards: The top 30 swimmers will receive awards for each championship session. Medals will be provided for the top 10 individual finishers and top 3 relays in each championship session; ribbons will be provided for all other places.
Meet requirements/ RSVP / Entry Deadline
- All Marlins swimmers may attend – no age restriction.
- Please RSVP here for attendance. RSVPs are due this Wednesday, June 21, 11:30pm!
- All swimmers can swim 2 individual and 2 relay events.
- When you RSVP, swimmers will have the option to choose 2 individual events they want to swim.
- Coaches will determine the relays (you will be able to state your availability).
- If you RSVP’d prior to this email, please go back and select your child’s event preferences. If your swimmer has no preference, you can leave it up to the coach to decide in the notes section.
- If your swimmer swims year-round and has a USS number with USA Swimming, please email Judy at [email protected] with your USS number. We will add it to your Swimtopia account. This allows this ASA meet to count as an “observed status” and be used for qualification purposes by USS.
Parking - All vehicles must pay to park. If you know you will attend, you can purchase your ticket in advance so you have a parking spot close to the center. (It was sold out last year).
- Parents can also drop-off then park in overflow parking.
- Vehicles up to a 15-passenger van may park in the W10 CRC Lot located Adjacent to the CRC at 750 This is a prepaid lot only, Ferst Dr. You cannot pay at the gate. The cost is $12, go to https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events (Choose the June 28 Wednesday - 2023 ASA Championships Day 1: Afternoon session, – 1:30pm option)
- You cannot buy spots for this lot at the gate.
- Overflow parking for W10 and any day of parking for those who did not prepay is located at the W23 lot at 905 State St. on Wednesdays. These are relatively short walks from the pool.
Photography - Please remember flash photography in the spectator area is not allowed.
