ASA practice tomorrow, ASA details

June 26th

Dear Marlins Family,

Thank you for choosing to participate in the 2023 ASA Championships this Wednesday, June 28 at Georgia Tech.

We currently have 51 Marlins swimmers attending. If you can no longer participate, please let us know ASAP so we can rearrange relays, etc.
We will have a light practice tomorrow, Tuesday 6/27 for ASA participants only at Murphey Candler to work on starts and finishes. Georgia Tech has start blocks and touch pads. (8 and under 5:45p-6:45pm, 9 and over 7-8pm)
We will also have swimmers make Marlins spirit posters for the meet.

Please refer to our previous email regarding the major details of the meet. The ASA website also offers more specific details about the Championship. In this email, we highlighted important points and areas of interest.

There will be a total of 13 Teams swimming on Wednesday. Please see the attached for the Marlins Athlete Sheet and the ASA Heat Sheet. The Heat Sheet also includes other important details and is a great resource to have. Please print your own copies. You may even click on the links below for complete psych, athelete and heat sheets.

Here are some other important things to know:

Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Please plan to be available to arrive around 2:30pm - 2:45pm.

Location: Georgia Tech Campus Rec Center/ McAuley Aquatic Center 750 Ferst Dr, Atlanta, GA 30318

Time/Warmups

Please meet the team on the front lawn between 2:30pm and 2:45pm. We can then walk in as a team to our assigned seating at 3:00pm. Our warmups are at 3:30 - 3:45 pm - Girls - Pool – Lanes 4-8. Please wear your Royal Blue Marlins team shirt and have your swimmer MARKED.

Volunteers

We are looking for parents to volunteer! Please sign-up here. Volunteers will have access to the pool deck.

ASA is asking the Marlins for 4 volunteers (2 girl timers, 1 water person, 1 awards person).
We are also looking for parents to help with relays, and parent helpers. These parents will have credentials to go on the pool deck. Please let us know if you are available.

Parking

The closest lot is W10. The cost $12 go to https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events (Choose the 2023 ASA Championships Day 1 Afternoon session option)

You cannot buy spots for this lot at the gate.
Overflow parking for W10 and any day of parking for those who did not prepay is located at the W23 lot at 905 State St. on Weds. center lot at 355 Ferst Fri. and in the W02 student Dr on Saturday only. These are relatively short walks from the pool.

Team Area / Spectators

Team area - limited seating to the team and volunteers. The Marlins team will be seated in Upstairs Seating Sec. 201 Row F – J. Located above/behind of the Diving Well.

Spectator Area - There is a separate area for parent spectators located upstairs, above/behind the boys and girls pool. Here is the seating chart. Please note that there will be a boys pool and a girls pool.

Concessions

Smaller personal coolers that can fit into or under a seat are OK. Concessions for the meet will be available for this year’s meet. However, may be limited so plan accordingly. We have no control over concessions for the meet.

Teams - River Oak Photography is back again this year, to capture live action of our swimmers at the Championship meet. A limited number of "Day Of Meet" reservations will be available, so Pre-Register now!
